What You Will Do:
- Assist and work alongside application specialists.
- Assists in design of machine programs and "cut strategies" to produce parts from source material according to specifications.
- Receive CAD drawings, make tweaks in CAD/CAM software to generate CNC machine programs as requested
- Generate data to validate processes and communicate feedback to teams.
- Edit post processors as needed
- Generate Numerical Code, laser code and transfer to machines.
- Manage program storage on network and other directories
- Test and run low qty's of all new programs for prototypes and production
- Assist in standardizing parameters on new programming routines.
- Troubleshoot CNC code, machine condition and material abnormalities
- Maintain documentation for CNC program files, solid 3-D model files, CAD files, post-processors, CAM files and set up sheets.
- Operate CNC machines to create fixtures for production and non-production work
- Occasional machine set up and commissioning.
- Train personnel utilizing EDGE method

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED is required
- Immigration sponsorship not available for this role
- Machinist degree or two to three years industry equivalent
Physical Demands:
- Occasionally lift/move up to 50 lbs.
- Standing for 8 or more hours
- Work long hours on a computer
- Full range of body motion
- Use of safety equipment (Safety glasses (computer programming glasses as needed), Steel-toe shoes, Laser safety training)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 2-3 years of set-up and operating 3-5 Axis CNC Computer Numerical Control equipment
- Grinding, Laser and Wire EDM 5 axis experience
- Cutting and shaping technologies
- Esprit software and Pro-E
- Knowledge of numerical code and code editing
- Post-processing editing
- Extensive geometry knowledge, some algebra and trigonometry
- Excellent attention to detail
- Basic engineering/physics principles, through training or experience
- Ability to prioritize activities and projects
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel
- Fixture mechanics knowledge
- Precision measuring tools knowledge
- Quality certified inspector
- Mechanical aptitude
- Familiarity with G and M machine codes
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and carry out responsibilities with little supervision
- Ability to read and understand technical prints or special information
