OVERVIEW

Merrick & Company is seeking a GIS Technician I with at least one (1) year of experience to join our growing team at our client project office in Tucker, GA. This position is required to be on-site at a client site and in office at least three (3) days each week.

The typical pay range for this position is $19.18 - $24.23 per hour. Pay offered may vary depending on job related knowledge, skills, and experience.


WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Takes direction to perform GIS data gathering, digitizing, conversion, and analysis.
  • In a support role, applies cartographic standards to prepare maps and exhibits using GIS datasets on projects with limited complexity.
  • Complete GIS/Survey tasks using ESRI products including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A minimum of one (1) year experience working with ESRI Desktop ArcGIS Software (Desktop and Pro).
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Knowledge of shapefiles and geodatabases.
  • Knowledge of data projections and how to manipulate.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic GIS concepts and methodologies such as drawing scale, spatial databases, spatial projections and coordinate systems, text and annotation placement, layer control, and basic GIS operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding of cartographic methods.
  • Ability to track and report project progress for timesheet and budget reporting.
  • Must be available for minimal travel will be local and regional and may require up to two (2) nights away at a time.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in a geospatial field.
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online and mobile apps.
