Controller/CFO - must live local, SoCal, US

$125K - $140K + a BONUS Program!!!!!

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Controller/CFO to lead financial operations within our construction industry business. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction accounting, financial reporting, and compliance, along with expertise in software conversion and ERP implementation. This role will oversee financial planning, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls while ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting, including month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Lead the successful implementation and conversion of financial software/ERP systems, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to business operations.
• Maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with GAAP, tax laws, and construction industry regulations.
• Develop and implement internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard company assets.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, job costing reports, and operational performance metrics.
• Manage cash flow, forecasting, and budgeting processes to ensure financial health and sustainability.
• Collaborate with project managers to monitor job costing, revenue recognition, and project profitability.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and team efficiency.
• Oversee audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior leadership to support growth initiatives and operational efficiencies.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA preferred).
• Minimum 7-10 years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior financial leadership role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting principles, WIP reporting, job costing, and contract revenue recognition.
• Proven experience in financial software/ERP conversion and implementation.
• Proficiency in construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, Procore, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
