The Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine (FJHM) is the dedicated development and alumni relations team supporting the entities that comprise Johns Hopkins Medicine (JHM), including clinical departments, hospitals, satellite clinics, and the School of Medicine. We contribute to Johns Hopkins Medicine's mission of patient care, research, and education through securing philanthropy, building and maintaining donor and alumni relationships, and supporting institutional priorities. FJHM partners closely with institutional leaders, faculty, and clinicians to engage alumni, patients, donors, and prospects in JHM's work to advance medicine and improve the human condition. Medical Development Services and Analytics (MDSA) is a data analytics team within the Fund for Johns Hopkins Medicine (FJHM), which raises philanthropic funds to support the tri-partite mission of Johns Hopkins Medicine. The MDSA team is responsible for data delivery and analysis for FJHM leadership decision support and to propel the fundraising initiatives of the 22 clinical department and hospital-based development offices under FJHM. Reporting to the Director, the Sr. Business Intelligence Analyst (the Sr. Analyst) serves as a subject matter expert on clinical encounter, patient and billing data sourced from the Epic system for fundraising purposes. This position has responsibility for the quality and accuracy of patient, guarantor, provider, and encounter data stored in the destination systems for fundraising use. Additional responsibilities include developing analytic products (dashboards, notebooks, visualizations) to enhance the effectiveness and business value of the data under their purview. This includes responsibility for developing and maintaining SQL queries and procedures comprising data sources for ingestion into JHAS, as well as sources for dashboards and reporting in Microsoft Power BI. Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for data analytics and additional support of performance measures, ongoing measurement, data collection, reporting, data visualizations and information dissemination.
- Responsible for implementing the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems.
- Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities.
- Engages in data exploration exercises with a variety of complex business intelligence tools, requiring knowledge of relational database structures.
- Serve as a resource on complex technical and business matters.
- Provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.
- Collaborates with other analytic teams and central engineering team as directed.
- Makes appropriate decisions, using available resources, to achieve positive outcomes for patients, visitors, staff, and students in balance with sound business practice.
- Makes recommendations for changes in the current departmental systems and processes and contributes ideas and suggestions for solutions to the current system's problems.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree.
- At least 4 years related experience, with at least 2 years' experience in data analytics.
- Additional education may substitute for experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

- Knowledge of project and information management
- Analytical ability to gather data, perform transformation, perform complex analysis, solve both complex business and technical problems
- Advanced knowledge of medical terminology and clinical information for positions working with patient-related data or knowledge of business expertise
