About The Position
The Customer Service Associate is an entry-level position which goes through extensive customer service training. After successful completion of training, the Customer Service Associate is responsible for customer service work in a back-office or contact center environment.

Key responsibilities include:
* General o Participate in on-going training activities as necessary to learn customer service policies and become proficient in operating processes and procedures. o Influence others with positive attitude with a focus on teamwork and cooperation.
* Contact Center o Handle typical customer inquiries through phone and internet channels. o Secure basic information/documentation during customer inquiries and maintain such information within company systems in a confidential and secure manner. o Explain standard company policies and procedures to customers regarding provision and payment for gas and electric service. o Advise customers of company programs and services associated with their gas and electric service. o Effectively handle inbound emergency contacts including documenting pertinent information and initiating appropriate field orders.
* Billing/Credit/Collections o Process and/or maintain routine customer account transactions according to defined policies and procedures.

Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major or minor in accounting, finance or related area preferred. Customer service experience in banking, telephone, collections or other related area preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:
Excellent math and computer skills. Must be able to use good business judgment when handling non-standard situations as defined in training materials.

Preferred candidate will have a minimum of 2 years' experience in consultant role handling inbound call volume from Ameren customers. Candidate would already be fully acclimated with all call types including billing, delinquent, move, supply choice and emergency orders.

Additional Information
Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$32,000.00 - $46,400.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
