The Commodity Manager will be responsible for creating disseminating, and delivering a commodity strategy, mapping out the capability, performance, risk, and desired future state of assigned commodities with a goal of improving performance through robust supplier relationship management. This individual will own the plan for every supplier and support the linkage with the engineering and buying functions.

What You'll Do



  • Serve as the main point of contact and key relationship manager for supplier partners within the assigned commodities.
  • Build and maintain supplier scorecards to track and improve supplier performance.
  • Segment vendors using key performance indicators (quality, delivery, cost, etc.) to develop a robust sourcing strategy for assigned commodities.
  • Lead supplier selection for new business opportunities within assigned commodities.
  • Execute robust LTAs/SOWs to migrate towards strategic vendor relationships.
  • Partner with 'preferred' suppliers to deeply understand their manufacturing capabilities and processes, providing targeted recommendations to improve efficiency and reduce cost gaps.
  • Negotiate with supplier partners for cost savings and/or avoidance utilizing tools such as competitive benchmarking, detailed cost analysis, and variance from existing part pricing.
  • Identify and implement creative strategies to drive out cost from the supply chain within assigned commodities, such as in-sourcing, outsourcing, reducing tariff impact, and design changes.
  • Serve as a project manager for vendor projects, including PPV, to support on-time project closure.


What You'll Bring



  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Supply Chain - additional years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • 3-5 years of experience in a Commodity Manager or strategic procurement role.
  • Advanced Excel skills
