Primary Purpose of the Organizational Unit
The purpose of the UNCG Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships is to provide students and their families with the resources necessary to finance their pursuit of higher education. Funding options administered by the office include federal, state, and institutional grants, scholarships, loans, work study, and other outside monies.
The Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships primary purpose is to:

  • Develop policy and implement procedures that ensure regulatory compliance for the $195,000,000 in financial aid assistance administered yearly by the University.
  • Assist in realizing the mission and ideals of the University.
  • Offer effective and timely communication of financial aid eligibility criteria and guidelines to the entire University community.
  • Provide a quality environment and enriching experience to all members of the University community

Position Summary
The primary purpose of the senior counselor for loans position is to accurately certify loans for students and parents, reconcile loans to the general ledger monthly, provide policy and procedural information to students and parents, and to provide primary program leadership for the Federal Direct PLUS Loan Program.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
