This role supports the calibration department by ensuring the accurate execution of field calibrations, maintaining compliance with ISO 17025 standards, and providing technical expertise to internal teams and customers. Working closely with sales, service, and field technicians, this position helps drive calibration business growth while improving processes and maintaining high-quality standards. By optimizing calibration systems and supporting both field and in-house operations, this role enhances service efficiency and reliability for customers. Which tasks will you perform?
- Assist in daily operations of the calibration department to ensure timely processing of field calibration requests and support field calibrations.
- Perform technical review of calibration requests, define execution requirements, and assist sales/service in pricing jobs for quotes.
- Monitor and analyze field calibration results, authorize accredited calibrations, and assess the impact of out-of-tolerance reference standards.
- Maintain knowledge of ISO 17025 accreditation, participate in audits, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Maintain and calibrate field test equipment and calibration standards to support accuracy and reliability.
- Lead on field calibration jobs that require more review of documentation and oversight of technicians performing the work.
- Perform field calibrations and serve as the primary backup for field calibration technicians when required.
- Provide technical support for customers, sales, and the field service network, including developing and presenting calibration training.
- Drive calibration business growth by visiting customers with sales, assisting in acquiring and executing calibration projects.
- Continually improve field calibration systems by making design changes, modifications, enhancements, and recommendations.
- Ensure a safe work environment by following safety regulations, conducting regular inspections, and promoting safety awareness.
What do we expect from you? You will have (required):
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 3+ years of relevant experience OR 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Travel required: up to 30%.
You may have (preferred):
- Experience with electrical test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, frequency counters) and calibration equipment for field calibration of flow, pressure, temperature, level, and analytical instrumentation.
- Working knowledge of flow, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, general electrical principles and wiring practices, Process & Instrumentation Drawings and a background in general metrology theory.
