AESC is expanding its footprint in the United States with gigafactories in Kentucky, South Carolina, and Tennessee to meet the growing demand for EV and BESS batteries and strengthen its presence in the North American market. AESC's Tennessee gigafactory in Smyrna, which has been operational and supplying electric vehicle batteries for the Nissan LEAF since 2012, was retooled in 2025 and now produces batteries for Energy Storage Systems. The South Carolina gigafactory in Florence will supply next generation cells for BMW starting in 2026. About the Role

The Material Handling Supervisor plans, directs, coordinates, and controls material handling activities in assigned work area to achieve established goals. Supervises assigned team members to receive inbound material, manage warehouse organization, process outbound shipments to achieve on time customer delivery while maintaining a safe working environment. Responsibilities include direction and training of employees, monitoring inventory levels and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental policies

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Plans and executes the daily activities required to manage inbound & outbound deliveries to support production
  • Schedules to assure a minimum of problems and delays, material shortages or equipment delays
  • Anticipates problems and delays for production schedules and corrects through problem solving and trouble shooting
  • Controls labor and materials usage to meet or improve standard costs
  • Temporary movement of personnel to meet production requirements
  • Achieve Safety, Quality, Cost and Time (SQCT) Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Coordinate and communicate with managers to ensure standardization of material handling operations
  • Generate weekly KPI report as needed
  • Prepare One Point Lesson's (OPL) and Standard Operating Sheets (SOS) in support of Envision AESC Production Way (EAPW).
  • Handles all administrative duties and paperwork
  • Investigates material variances and reports result of investigation to Manager
  • Prepares all required reports
  • Communicate delay reports to management
  • Address long and short-term quality concerns and then provide feedback to production and engineering and quality teams.
  • Support quality investigations when needed
  • Knows & understands the continuous improvement objectives being pursued within his/her area of responsibility
  • Meets all ethical, regulatory, etc., standards for position
What is "Nice to Have"?

Job Knowledge and Skill:

Excellent communication and motivational skills. Working knowledge of material handling & warehouse management principles. Knowledge of ISO9000 international manufacturing quality standards and ISO140001 environmental standards requirement for equipment maintenance and calibration. Good written and oral communication skills.

Experience:

Three to Five years of related experience at the professional level required. Background in material handling/warehouse management principles highly recommended.

Supervisory Experience:

Prefer two to five years in a work leader role coordinating the work of other employees and contractors. This includes training new employee, assigning work, and checking the timeliness and quality of work. May have provided input into performance reviews. Most time in work leader role would have been spent performing work similar to that performed by the people whose activities the position coordinates.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily an automated manufacturing plant with a concrete floor and is characterized by some temperature extremes, moderate noise, and forklift traffic. The individual must be able to perform all essential functions as appropriate on the plant floor, in meetings, and with employees, management, customers and suppliers.
