The Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) invites you to apply today to be considered for a position that provides customer service to the citizens of Maryland every day. The MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA team. The CMD Construction Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing the Construction Management Division's, along with various special projects, emergency project and construction under the Ancillary Master contracts, under the direction of the Manager of Construction. This role provides strategic leadership in the administration, execution, and supervision of construction initiatives across multiple disciplines, including Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Utility, and Track work construction. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the Construction Group, including the Ancillary Construction Group which is a major division within the Office of Engineering & Construction.
- Supervising engineering, technical, and administrative personnel to ensure efficient project execution.
- Ensuring construction activities are completed on schedule, within budget, and meet technical requirements.
- Overseeing Modal Ancillary Construction Group, as necessary.
- Providing oversight and direction to Area Managers, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and best practices across all projects.
This position requires strong leadership, project management expertise, and the ability to drive construction initiatives that align with organizational goals and regulatory standards.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master's Degree in Engineering or related field
Experience: 5 years of supervisory experience in an administrative professional work.Selective Qualifications Experience supervising engineering and technical personnel in the areas of Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Architectural, Utility, and Track work construction.
Proven experience in project management and oversight to ensure construction projects are completed within approved time, budget, and technical requirements while enforcing policies and procedures. Notes:
1. Additional work experience in professional engineering, or in technical engineering at the journey level or above, may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education.
3. Persons currently registered as Professional Engineers in the State of Maryland, or in a state with comparable requirements, are considered to have met the education requirements

1. Employees in this class may be required to possess a Professional Engineer, Land Surveyor, or Property Line Surveyor License. 2. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.
