POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

TheJanitorwill work under the direction of the assigned Lead and provide custodial services as directed. There is a full range of custodial duties related to the care, maintenance and cleaning of all assigned buildings located at the Power Marketing Operations Center (PMOC), 5555 E. Crossroads Blvd., Loveland, Colorado, 80538.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:




  • Keep Lead and/or Operations Manager apprised of unique situations and problems encountered.
  • Clean and sanitize restroom facilities and related fixtures including drinking fountains, custodial mop sinks, restroom sinks, urinals and toilets.
  • Replenish supplies in restrooms.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, wax, strip and polish floors and equipment.
  • Surface Cleaning: Clean areas of woodwork, walls, baseboards, trim, doors, partitions, fixtures and equipment, internal building windows, and handrails.
  • Sand filled receptacles shall be screened and clean sand added. Care shall be taken to avoid fires from hot ashes.
  • Wash interior window glass, and all plate glass less than 7 feet in height.
  • Clean and sanitize Kitchens and Employee Lounges.
  • Empty, clean and sanitize waste receptacles.
  • Sweeps and mops floors and vacuum carpets.
  • Trash Disposal: Collect trash from all designated areas. Place trash in plastic bags and remove it to the Government-furnished container. Ensure all trash cans have liners.
  • Conference rooms: Conference rooms are to be cleaned, dusted, and vacuumed. Tabletops are to be free of fingerprints and smudges. Conference rooms if needed are to be set-up daily with the room lay out and chair design given to them by one of WAPA'S administrative assistants or the design will be taped to the conference room door. Conference rooms will be set-up the night prior to being used.
  • Monthly Services for PMOC, CMRL, and LSC buildings of the following- Air Vents: Dusted and cleaned. Restrooms: Waste receptacles shall be washed and disinfected. Non-Carpeted waxed floors are buffed and dried.
  • Notify Lead if equipment is in disrepair, such as leaky faucets, clogged sinks, toilets, drains immediately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Lead.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances.
  • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and hazardous components.
  • Attention to detail and conscientiousness.
  • Very good physical condition and strength.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • High school diploma is preferred but not required.
  • Pursuant to Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen
