Assembler - 1st Shift

Obtain specified parts from designated areas, and assembles into various completed units or subassemblies on moving conveyor or work bench, using fixtures, gauges, hoist, air guns and a variety of hand tools. Parts vary in size and nature and include side panels, motors, fan guards, burner assemblies, and wiring. Operators are assigned a specific station on the line with a list of specific instructions, but may be required to rotate frequently to other stations on the line or to subassembly jobs. Bench work includes such operations as cutting wire and attaching terminals, sawing and deburring aluminum tubing and flexible conduit, and building power assemblies. Must keep up with pace of line. Records time and production.

1. Obtains specified parts from designated area next to conveyor and assembles onto unit using powered or manual hand tools and screws, nuts, bolts, etc.
2. Perform various duties for various units and stations as specified in the written job instructions. Job instructions may include parts and wiring diagrams.
3. May be required to use fixtures, hoists, and gauges at various stations.
4. Work at established pace of conveyor line and records time and production.
5. Report improper equipment operation and defective parts to Supervisor.
6. Works eight-hour shift concurrently with other plant operations. Periodic daily and weekend overtime as production schedules demand.
7. May be assigned task of training new/transferred employees as required.
8. Follow standard work.
9. Other essential functions as may be assigned.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Requires reading, writing, adding, subtracting, ability to use air guns and handle large and very small parts, and following of instructions. Must be able to successfully master all elements of training control document for this job.
