Title: Managing Water Resources / Habitat Restoration Engineer Location: Seattle Job Type: Regular Full-time What's the Opportunity? Anchor QEA seeks a senior-level engineer to join our team of engineers, scientists, biologists, and planners to create and manage habitat restoration projects. This position will support planning, analysis, design, and construction of habitat restoration, fish passage and dam removal projects throughout the Pacific Northwest. They will also be responsible for winning and executing projects and growing our experience with governmental, tribal, and non-governmental entities. Responsibilities: * Performing hydrologic, hydraulic, and engineering analyses to support habitat restoration, fish passage, and dam removal projects. * Managing and participating in the collection of field data; completing complex analyses and calculations independently. * Preparing design plans, specifications, and construction cost estimates for restoration projects independently and with oversight. * Developing and providing technical review of project work and reports. * Working directly with conservation districts, non-governmental organizations, tribes and other organizations throughout the Pacific Northwest to restore natural systems and salmon habitat. * Managing project teams, tasks, and budgets. * Providing technical mentorship and guidance to junior staff. * Positioning for and winning multi-disciplinary projects with a focus on sustainable habitat and ecological restoration solutions either as part of a larger team or as the prime contractor. * Knowledge of existing and potential clients in the region, and ability to leverage existing relationships. * Developing new clients, identify project opportunities, lead proposal efforts, and capture new work. * Leading scope development, fee negotiations, project schedule and deliverable milestones development, technical and financial project management activities, client and stakeholder coordination, project implementation, and subcontractor administration. * Developing construction planning and observation documentation. * Providing on-site construction observation and field engineering. What Are We Looking For? Ideal candidates will have the following: * Bachelor's or Master's degree (preferred) in civil or water resources engineering, or related field * 10 or more years' experience designing river and stream restoration, fish passage projects, and/or dam removal projects, with a minimum of 5 years of project management experience. * Experience in mentoring junior staff and providing quality control of their work. * Construction observation and field engineering experience. * Proficiency in field data collection to support geomorphic and habitat assessments for rivers and streams. * Large wood placement and engineered log jam design experience. * Proficiency in 1D and 2D hydrodynamic modeling software (e.g. HEC-RAS 1D/2D). * Experience with scour and sediment transport analyses and design in rivers and streams. * Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D for engineering design. * Knowledge of topographic, bathymetric, and/or drone-based field survey data collection. * Experience supporting proposal efforts along with scope and budget estimating. * Knowledge of Washington State's environmental planning and regulatory environment and fisheries biology of the Pacific Northwest. Salary and Other Compensation: * Salary Range: $138,300 - $155,500 * Annual Bonus * Other potential bonus types: Billable Time Bonus, Spot Bonus, Milestone Anniversary Bonus, Receiving Professional License/Certification Bonus, Peer-reviewed Publication Bonus, Employee Referral Bonus.
