Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of the human resources function in a multifaceted and complex business
environment and on a campus setting. Serves on the Cabinet and partners with its members. Advises and counsels senior management and participates as a key decision maker regarding employment and workplace practices.

Leadership:

  • Member of community Cabinet team. Works collaboratively with Executive Director and
    Cabinet team to ensure success in meeting and exceeding community goals in operations,
    human resources, sales and resident care.
  • Responsible for oversight of the Human Resources staff, which includes hiring, training
    and development, counseling, performance evaluation, functional development and
    disciplinary action.
  • Oversees training of all staff on human resource policies and procedures.
  • Understands and enforces all HR policies and procedures as outlined in applicable manuals
    and the employee handbook. Applies and communicates policies and procedures
    proactively and on a continual basis.
  • Advances the employee relations strategy to build the right environment to increase
    employee engagement.
  • Increases personal growth and development through formal and informal education
    programs.

Operations:

  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices to develop, promote and
    maintain a harmonious work environment.
  • Applies knowledge of the unique business model to make recommendations and decisions,
    to problem solve and to strategically partner with the Cabinet team.
  • Creates a work environment that is free of discrimination and harassment. Actively adheres
    to and stays current on employment practices.
  • Investigates employee complaints and/or inquiries from external agencies immediately and
    thoroughly.
  • Understands progressive discipline guidelines and communicates process to supervisors
    and managers
  • Directs the implementation and administration of company compensation and benefits
    programs and communicates topics effectively to employees.
  • Oversees the recruitment and hiring process ensuring compliance with required procedures
    and Company policy.
  • Manages the training function including maintaining a system to ensure initial and follow-up training is conducted on a timely basis.

Financial:

  • Participates in the development of and monitors the operating budgets, capital expenditures
    and reporting systems for Human Resources department.
  • Continuously monitors and evaluates staffing ratios and patterns and recommends
    appropriate staffing levels to meet business demands.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree is required, Master's Degree and experience in senior living
    or hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Human Resources
    with prior supervisory responsibility is required. Senior living/hospitality industry
    experience is a plus.
  • Licensure / Certification: PHR, SPHR is preferred

Pay Range

USD $99,142.00 - USD $128,896.00 /Yr.
