IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team!We are currently seeking a Landscape Designer Intern in our Richmond, VA office. As a Landscape Designer Intern you will be responsible for working closely with a team of internal experienced landscape designers and landscape architects, and other IMEG land development professionals to assist with landscape architecture design solutions and prepare various technical deliverables for project work.

Scope:
The Landscape Designer Intern will support our team on various projects including graphics production, CAD drawings and details, site visits, presentations and exhibits for marketing efforts. You will be involved in various phases of the design process from project feasibility/research to community engagement to construction administration.While working within a team environment and being guided by senior staff, this will be a great opportunity for career advancement.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Assists with the preparation of exhibits, presentation graphics and renderings.

  • Assists with the preparation of landscape and planting plans, and tree preservation plans.

  • Assists with research, calculations and data entry for associated plans and reports.

  • Assists with concept and schematic landscape design.

  • Assists with site visits and tree assessments.

  • Assists with the preparation of landscape sheets within entitlement drawing submission packages and site plans for plan processing and implementation.

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Adobe Photo-Suite proficiency.

  • Auto-CAD working knowledge.

  • Motivated and willingness to learn.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Education & Experience:

  • Enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in landscape architecture program (or equivalent discipline in architecture or urban design).

  • Prior internship experience preferred, but not required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.

  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
