Resident Network Consultant - Federal Team Secret Clearance required Location: Onsite Monterrey, CA Juniper Networks provides strategic solution development, integration, and deployment services to our customers through the Professional Services organization. The Resident Consultant will work onsite with a customer, providing post-sales campus wireless delivery; they will own the success of all technical aspects of the customer deliverables. This role will have technical oversight and project experience to interface directly with sales and the customer to define the solution from the customer's perspective and will have the ability to produce the wireless campus design, validation and implementation of the customers campus wireless network. Requirements:
- Security Clearance Required: Secret
- Will be onsite with the customer and be required to travel to San Diego, CA as needed.
- Will provided post-sales Engineering Design/Architecture, Operational, and Support for a campus Mist wired and wireless network.
- Work daily with technologies: Juniper MIST Wired and Wireless Assurance, EX switches, and Mist Access points.
- Will provide wireless surveys, routing and switching design and implementation expertise to the customer.
- Travel: ~10% (based on customer needs.
Qualifications
- The candidate must have a detailed understanding of protocols used for IP networks and demonstratable technical expertise in the configuration, troubleshooting and operation of IP based routers, switches, and wireless devices.
- Prior experience with campus wireless design/solutions and hands-on experience with leveraging in tools such as Ekahau to conduct wireless site surveys.
- Prior experience of consulting and implementing Federal STIG compliance.
- WIfi fundamentals: RF Basics, WLAN association, frequency bands, and 802.11 PGY protocols
- WLAN architecture: Access points to include PoE requirements
- WLAN concepts: Policy (WxLAN), Guest Portals, and wireless intrusion detection and prevention.
- Automation skills to be able to interact with RESTful API data, to be able to create automated MOP's, or extract RESTful API data.
- RESTful API concepts.
- Python and ansible.
Responsibilities:
- Work in a consultative manner to deliver switching, routing, wireless solutions for a dedicated customer.
- Ensure solution design meets the customer objective.
- Technical delivery success, including assessment, design, test and validation, and implementation.
- Will work closely with a Project Manager.
- Work with Customer and Juniper's key technical resources to ensure technical alignment.
- Personal on-site delivery of Professional Services including creation of high level and detailed design documentation, migration planning, product integration and acceptance.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the customers' technical teams.
- Develop and maintain an in-depth technical and marketing knowledge of the Juniper Networks MIST products.
- Regular feedback of product requirements and performance to internal groups including engineering, consulting and product management.
- Escalate project issues timely.
- Project scoping efforts when required.
- Build a reputation as a subject matter expert among their peers in the technology, products, solutions, and services.
- Able to investigate, learn, and engage in projects with new technologies.
- Provide training/mentoring to the customer/consultants/engineers.
Ideal Strengths:
- Ekahau or equivalent formal training.
- Juniper MIST wireless campus experience.
- Certifications: JNCIP-MistAi and/or JNCIP-ENT
- Juniper MIST Network Operations is a plus: events, alerts, and SLE configuration/troubleshooting
- Marvis Virtual Network Assistant is a plus
Minimum Salary: $180,800.00 Maximum Salary:$259,900.00 The pay range for this position is expected to be between $180,800.00 and $259,900.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave.
