Responsibilities: - Crane Operation: - Operate mobile or stationary cranes to lift, move, and position heavy materials or equipment according to project specifications. - Manipulate crane controls to regulate speed and direction of crane and hoist movement. - Safety Compliance: - Adhere to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). - Conduct pre-operation inspections of the crane to ensure it is in safe working condition. - Load Calculation: - Calculate crane capacities and determine load weights, ensuring adherence to load charts and weight limitations. - Collaborate with project managers and other team members to plan lifts and rigging procedures. - Communication: - Maintain clear and effective communication with ground personnel and other crane operators to ensure safe and efficient operation. - Follow hand signals or radio commands to coordinate lifting and movement activities. - Equipment Maintenance: - Perform routine maintenance on the crane, including lubrication and minor repairs. - Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the appropriate personnel. - Site Preparation: - Assist in the preparation of the work site, including the assembly and disassembly of the crane. - Ensure proper ground conditions for stable and safe crane operation. - Documentation: - Complete and maintain accurate records of crane operation, including lift logs and maintenance records. - Submit required reports to supervisors as needed. - Emergency Response: - Respond promptly to emergency situations or potential hazards, taking appropriate action to mitigate risks. - Participate in emergency drills and training exercises. - Compliance with Regulations: - Stay informed about and comply with local, state, and federal regulations related to crane operation and lifting activities. - Continuous Improvement: - Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and advancements. - Provide feedback and suggestions for improving crane operation processes. Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent. - Certification in crane operation from a recognized training program. -1 year of experience as a crane operator, preferably in construction or industrial settings. - Knowledge of crane safety regulations and best practices. - Strong spatial awareness and depth perception. - Excellent hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude. - Ability to work at heights and in various weather conditions. - Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team. - Physical strength and stamina to endure long hours of crane operation. |
