Description
We are hiring a Legal Assistant to provide legal secretarial and administrative support for Steelcase's core legal function. In this fast-paced environment, the legal assistant will maintain professional and ethical standards and handle critical details that involve confidential and proprietary company information.
Who you are:
You are an administrative professional with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-up, along with the proven ability to work independently while handling a demanding, multi-faceted workload. You have knowledge of general legal terminology and are able to multi-task and support multiple leaders.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • At least 4 years of administrative support experience or military equivalent experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Proven ability to handle highly confidential and proprietary company information with discretion, judgment, tact and diplomacy
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Associates Degree in business or related field
  • Prior experience working on an in house legal department or law firm setting
  • Exposure to Diligent Boards or other similar software platforms
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Supporting legal team members with:
    • General correspondence
    • Handling travel arrangements
    • Calendar management
    • Records administration
    • Copying, mail, facsimile transmissions and ordering an inventory of office supplies
  • Managing special projects including coordination of project activities both internally and externally and providing follow-up support to assist with project completion under the general guidance of an attorney or paralegal
  • Providing proactive support for organizational updates, monthly reporting requirements, and communications
  • Maintaining the departmental database and accurately maintains comprehensive paper and electronic records with the ability to create summary report
  • Planning internal and cross-department meetings and functions
