Job Overview
The Business and Law Department at UC Clermont College is seeking an innovative and collaborative full-time Assistant/Associate Professor (Educator track) in Hospitality Management. This is a nine-month contract with the opportunity for summer teaching with additional compensation. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate's credentials, background, and experience. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of excellence in undergraduate online and in-person teaching, as well as the ability to develop strong connections with regional and national hospitality and tourism organizations to enhance student learning and career placement opportunities.
Essential Functions
- Lead and manage the new Hospitality Management programs, serving as the Program Director for the Associate of Applied Business in Hospitality Management (launching Fall 2025) and the Bachelor's degree program in Hospitality Management (launching Fall 2026). Responsibilities include curriculum development, student recruitment, and industry partnerships.
- Teach undergraduate courses, such as Introduction to Hospitality and Tourism, Hotel & Lodging Operations, and Room & Facilities Management.
- Develop and maintain strong partnerships with regional and national hospitality and tourism organizations to enhance internship and career placement opportunities.
- Integrate experiential learning and study abroad opportunities into the curriculum.
- Engage in course design and development to align with industry trends and Accreditation Commission for Programs in Hospitality Administration (ACPHA) standards.
- Participate in program assessment, accreditation, and review processes to ensure quality and continuous improvement.
- Engage in ongoing professional development, scholarship, and service to the department, college, university, and community.
- And fulfill other duties as may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements
For Assistant Professor (Educator Track):
- A Master's degree in Hospitality Management or a related field.
- A minimum of three (3) years of full-time post-secondary online instructional experience in Hospitality and Tourism or a related field, evidenced by teaching evaluations, student reviews, and peer course evaluations.
- Demonstrated interest in creating and supervising experiential learning opportunities, including developing and maintaining industry contacts for internships and career pathways.
- Proficiency in technology-enhanced instruction, including experience using learning management systems such as Canvas or Blackboard.
For Associate Professor (Educator Track):
- A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in Hospitality Management or a related discipline.
- A minimum of six (6) years of demonstrated excellence in post-secondary online teaching in Hospitality and Tourism or a related field, evidenced by teaching evaluations, student reviews, and peer course evaluations.
- Experience in developing or modifying Hospitality & Tourism courses at the college level, with a focus on applied and practical skills.
- Demonstrated leadership in creating and supervising experiential learning opportunities, including industry partnerships for internships and career development.
- Experience in managing accreditation processes, including program assessment, curriculum alignment, and compliance with ACPHA standards.
- Knowledge of SafeServe Association Certifications.
- A record of publications and scholarly contributions related to the Hospitality and Tourism industry.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Experience in hospitality industry leadership or management roles.
- Industry certifications such as ServSafe, Certified Hospitality Educator (CHE), or other relevant credentials.
- Familiarity with ACPHA accreditation criteria.
- Experience in program development, assessment, and curriculum design in higher education.
- Teaching experience in an open-access mission institution.
