Qualitative Data Analyst - Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Job Details

The Data Analyst will work with the research team to manage qualitative data. This will include transcription of recordings (focus groups, design thinking sessions) and completion of thematic analysis. This will include transcripts in Spanish and English. The role involves collaborating with principal investigators (PIs), research team and doctoral students to synthesize findings and provide regular updates to Principal Investigators (PIs). The analyst will use NVivo or other qualitative software to organize, code, and analyze data. Organized management of transcripts is necessary, maintaining documentation, and ensuring version control. The analyst will conduct bilingual (English/Spanish) transcription and analysis, ensuring cultural nuances are integrated and supporting translation of key insights between languages.

Job Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct quality checks of transcriptions from engagement sessions (focus groups and design thinking).
  • Serve as a member of the thematic analysis team following an established process to identify themes and insights from the focus groups, design thinking sessions, and open-ended survey responses.
  • Synthesize findings collaboratively with a team of doctoral students and the research team.
  • Organize and facilitate triangulation meetings and materials.
  • Provide timely updates and reports to project Principal Investigators (PIs)
  • Use the NVivo or other qualitative software to organize, code, and analyze qualitative data, and generate visual representations using a variety of tools.
  • Share transcripts with team members while maintaining confidentiality of the information and ensure efficient management of multiple transcripts, maintaining proper storage, documentation, and version control.
  • Conduct bilingual thematic analysis (English and Spanish), ensuring cultural nuances are integrated and that consistency and accuracy are maintained across both languages.
  • Interacts with co-workers, students, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

EDUCATIONAL/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred with experience with qualitative analysis, bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience in academic or research setting is preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • MUST BE BILINGUAL IN ENGLISH/SPANISH
  • Experience in collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
