Statement of Purpose

Program Director, Operations and Analysis will be accountable for the strategic development and maintenance of an effective Operations Planning and Analysis department at NIB, which will increase blind employment annually. Specifically, the position is accountable and responsible for leading the department to ensure the following business outcomes:



  1. Develop, implement, maintain, and improve upon the required set of systems and procedures to generate business line forecasts in advance of demand, create credible revenue and employment projections, and assist in building organizational business plans.
  2. Develop data-based metrics, reports and dashboards to inform and assist organizational decision making.
  3. Manage the provision of non-technical support services for organizational Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems with a focus on operations.
  4. Analyze and assess existing data collection methods, collected data, and metrics and make recommendations to improve the central data collection, analysis, and distribution of operational data to provide visibility of both operational and business process performance.

Education

Undergraduate degree in business, economics, statistics or operations research. MBA is highly preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be acceptable.

Training and Specialized Knowledge



  • Strong leadership and teaming capabilities with the ability to operate independently and have a track record of delivered results.
  • Ability to build strong trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers.
  • Prior consulting or work experience in developing business/operational metrics associated with demand and supply planning.
  • Solid knowledge of statistical methods and benchmarking techniques; synthesizing complex and diverse information and anticipating and effectively solving multifaceted problems.
  • Strong analytical (industry, market, and business), quantitative skills and data analysis skills.


  • Solid knowledge and experience with EXCEL, VBA programming in EXCEL, EXCEL Reporting, database structures, database queries, report generation using database queries, database development, Python, and SQL.
  • An ability to develop structured and fact-based strategy reports (e.g., narrative business plans and presentations) that include succinct conclusions and recommendations.
  • Strong Program Management skills to effectively manage a diverse number of complex projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication/presentation skills; and

Experience



  • A minimum 9 years executing the planning, forecasting, review and analysis of business data, sales and operations planning and/or an operations research analysis.
  • Strong management, interpersonal, analytical, project management, presentation and verbal and written communication skills

  • John Galt Forecast X Wizard 8 experience.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities



  • Develop and implement effective strategies and solutions improving NIB's forecasting process in advance of demand for all NIB business lines based on historical data and other environmental causal factors.
  • Identify causal factors associated with the demand plan and recommend changes to forecasts to improve future accuracy.
  • Track and analyze actual data to the plan and identify corrective actions required by major business or product line.
  • Assist in developing recommendations for the Annual NIB business plan.
  • Manage the Operations process to identify and process functional changes and reports for the NIB ERP system.
  • Ensure processes are in place to maintain data integrity for all reference data within the NIB ERP system.
  • Provide customized reporting and metrics as required for senior leadership.
  • Assist in business case development as required by business line leaders.
  • Identify gaps in data collection to further forecast accuracy and improve review and analysis capability within NIB and make recommendations on modifying existing business processes/rules/maps to close the gap and required translational logic that provides visibility into operational performance of business processes using developed metrics.
  • Support short and long term operational/strategic business activities - by developing, enhancing, and maintaining operational information and models.
  • Develop and implement effective/strategic operations solutions through research and analysis of data and current forecasting/measuring processes.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis and prepare metrics on assigned business area(s)
  • Provide regular analysis and reports as well as analysis to support specific inquiries.
