About The Position

The Supervising Engineer Pipeline Safety is responsible for leading the implementation of and ongoing development and oversight of the Pipeline Safety Management Systems program for Ameren Illinois (AIC).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the overall efforts within AIC to support the implementation and maintenance of the Pipeline Safety Management Systems (PSMS) API RP 1173 standard .
  • Develop and maintain the written PSMS plan for AIC Gas.
  • Collaborate with PSMS program element stakeholders to identify risks and improvement opportunities related to Pipeline Safety for AIC Gas Operations.
  • Coordinate with the AIC PSMS Steering Committee to prioritize improvement opportunities into formal projects. This may include identifying priority and key performance metrics, as well as engaging in forecasting and budget development as needed.
  • Maintain an external liaison with industry peers to leverage improvement opportunities observed in the industry through best practices identified, learn f rom external industry incidents, etcetera.
  • Provide oversight to the AIC Gas Corrective/Preventative Action program, including trend analysis of Operational Assessments conducted by the AIC Gas Quality Assurance staff and ICC external audits.
  • Create and maintain communication channels to promote Pipeline Safety Management Systems awareness and program status to all stakeholder audiences within AIC.
  • Maintain documentation of the PSMS program to support internal reporting and external audits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Eight or more years related experience (e.g., Gas Operations, Quality, Process Safety Management) required. Three or more years of experience supervising teams responsible for operational data analysis and/or operations improvement preferred. Previous experience with continuous improvement and corrective action planning preferred. Knowledge of AIC Gas Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Plan or PHMSA Pipeline Safety Regulations preferred.

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

Ability to work effectively with different organizational levels; basic understanding of performance improvement principles; excellent written and oral communication skills; and the following Ameren competencies: Think Customer, Inspire and Engage, Foster Innovation, Drive Results, Champion Learning, Build Trust, and Be Strategic.

Additional Information

Ameren's selection process includes a series of interviews and may include a leadership assessment process. Specific details will be provided to qualified candidates.

Compensation Range:

$128,700.00 - $199,500.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
