Job Summary

The Customer Service Consultant acts as a primary point of contact for customers by proactively and reactively responding to the service needs of residential and small commercial gas and electric customers. This position is responsible for maximizing business opportunities with customers. This individual needs to consistently meet and exceed customer expectations in each customer contact.

Job Responsibilities

Develop and Maintain Customer Relationships

  • Contact, establish, and maintain relationships with both new and current customers to discuss their wants, needs, and service concerns to retain their business.
  • Coordinate installation with internal and external resources.
  • Work with customers, developers, and contractors to establish new and expanded service, make proactive "touch-point" contacts.
  • Proactively manage customer contact and expectations for service delivery by identifying and resolving potential issues to timely completion.
  • Proactively manage internal company work requests by identifying and resolving potential issues to timely completion.
  • Respond to customers through multiple channels; call, email, fax, mail or face-to-face.
  • Communicate new, relocation and upgrade service information to customers & contractors.
  • Follow company policy/procedures to capture all relevant customer information.

Work Management

  • Create, run and maintain queries in the work management system.
  • Update job tasks as required.
  • Process information updates.
  • Follow-up on job requirements (inspections, ready for service cards, signed sketches, permits, ROW, payments, lighting contracts, etc.).

Maintain Quality Service

  • Follow distribution standards, company policies, and procedures.
  • Provide necessary support for customer restoration efforts and gas emergencies.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Associates Degree or equivalent Armed Forces training.
  • 3+ years of customer service experience and/or customer relations related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Delivery of customer service and sales, including inbound/outbound calls is preferred.
  • Customer related experience in one of the following areas: utility, construction, industrial, or commercial is preferred.
  • Experience in negotiating with customers and dealing with difficult situations is preferred.

End Date: 03/20/2025

Minimum Posting Range: $35.46

Maximum Posting Range: $41.59

The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting and may be modified in the future. The starting salary/pay within the pay range will be based on several factors, as applicable, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, shift, travel requirements, collective bargaining agreements, and business and organizational needs. At WEC Energy Group, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role.
