Responsibilities

The Western Region Consolidated Business Office (CBO) provides business office services including appeals/denials, billing, collections, cash posting, pre-access management, variance and customer service to our affiliated UHS facilities. We are seeking dynamic and talented individuals to join our team.

The Manager, Human Resources provides HR leadership and expertise and acts as an employee advocate, change agent and administrative expert in people matters. Provides support to the CBO leadership team and staff concerning all areas of human resources including employee relations, recruitment and retention, salary and wage administration, benefit administration and worker's compensation.

  • Responsible for developing strategies around recruitment and selection activities, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Works with HR Generalist on new hire onboarding. Prepare and conduct new hire orientation.
  • Provides employee relations guidance to leadership team including disciplinary actions, performance improvement plans and terminations.
  • Works with CBO director in coordinating leadership training for CBO managers including opportunities for growth and development.
  • Plans and coordinates Service Excellence training and employee engagement activities for the office.
  • Communicates benefit information based on corporate policies and procedures and serve as a resource to employees.
  • Responsible for Worker's Compensation case management.
  • Functions as a resource and liaison between corporate HR and the CBO.
  • Serves as a resource to employees, answering questions concerning personnel policies, benefits and other HR issues.
  • Supports payroll processing.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business/human resources management from an accredited college or university required. PHR/SHRM-CP, or SPHR/SHRM-SCP desired.

Experience:

  • Five to eight years progressively responsible human resources management experience. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Healthcare business office experience a plus.
  • Experience in an environment with a union presence preferable.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of policies and procedures and employment laws (Federal, State and Local).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required. Proficiency with HRIS and LMS required.

  • Ability to organize priorities and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on service excellence.
  • Customer focused, providing service consistently exceeding expectations to both internal and external customers.
