Admission Clinician Diamond Grove Center is currently searching for an Admission Clinician. This position will be PRN with hours of 8:00am -5:00pm, which could lead to fulltime. Flexibility is required for this position. Diamond Grove Center is a 61 bed, behavioral health psychiatric hospital located in the beautiful neighborhood of Louisville, Miss. Diamond Grove Center features individual units for children, adolescents, and offers inpatient care acute care, as well as residential treatment for adolescents. On average 1000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Diamond Grove Center Hospital. The Admissions Clinician is the initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, facilitates the admission process and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. The Admissions Clinician is responsible for the verification and prior authorization of insurance benefits as needed. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to various populations including children, adolescents, adults, older adults and dually diagnosed patients in an inpatient and outpatient setting. Licensed IN, LCSW, PLC, LMFT preferred. Experience: 1-2 years of experience preferred in psychiatric health care. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field. Supervisor experience preferred. Additional Requirements: Complete knowledge of crisis intervention techniques. Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or Handle With Care and CPR. Knowledge and ability to effectively use computers.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to communicate verbally, telephonically and in writing. Physical agility to manage patients. Push, pull and lift up to 40 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending and stooping. Drug and alcohol free as evidenced by negative results of post-offer, pre-employment urine drug screen.
