The Carl H. Lindner III Center for Insurance & Risk Management ("LCIRM" henceforth) is an industry-leading research center that seeks to understand, analyze and improve how economies, enterprises and individuals manage risk. By engaging faculty and students throughout the University of Cincinnati and (inter)nationally recognized scholars in insuranceand risk management research and collaboration, as well as cultivating industry partnerships, the Center is the premier provider of thought leadership through high-impact risk research and exchange of knowledge between academia and industry. Job Overview

Under general supervision of the Academic Director, the Program Coordinator with assist with the administration and direction of the LCIRM. The LCIRM is academically situated within the Department of Finance of the Lindner College of Business.

This position will have the option of a hybrid work schedule (3 days in the office/2 days work from home) for those with a residence within OH/IN/KY following 90 days of training. Residence must be in the tri-state area within reasonable distance to UC Main Campus to have ability to report to campus as required. Remote work arrangements are subject tochange in accordance with university policies.

Essential Functions

* Offer support with LCIRM's collaborating efforts with administrative and academic units (i.e., Public Relations, Academic Colleges, UC Foundation, etc.) to enhance business/community partnerships; support the UC Foundation staff regarding fundraising for INTB4030 IRM Global Destinations (a new travel course within the IRM program); support Lindner Career Services with organizing the IRM Career Fair (twice annually).

* Assist with preparation of annual Center reports, operating budgets and budget recommendations; develop, implement and monitor assigned budgets; ensuring LCIRM follows all University and College financial, payment, and procurement policies andprocedures when incurring expenses, including the submission of required documentation for financial transactions (i.e., requisitions (PO's), invoices, contracts, reimbursements, and p-card reconciliations) for purchases, scholarships, and payroll.

* Prepare reports for the Academic Director, disseminate/interpret information, provide advice, write proposals, deliver presentations, construct contractual agreements, and ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state, and federal regulations.

* Assist with guest speaker administration and reimbursement; assist with conference/eventorganization and student scholarship administration.

* Be responsible for several CRM tasks and keeping accurate records; be responsible for administering alumni relations and implementing a one-to-one mentorship program for IRM students.

* Assist in promoting the Insurance & Risk Management Program and LCIRM using diverse marketing channels, assist with social media presence, and support/administer sponsorship activities to increase impact.

* Communicate with and assist students and corporate partners to resolve questions and complex issues; represent the LCIRM and the university internally and externally.

* Work closely with our program's student fraternity, Gamma Iota Sigma (GIS), to assist with event preparation and administration of GIS student conference trips; support with budget management and help prepare weekly GIS meetings involving speakers from the industry.

* Assist the Academic Director in writing reports and planning meetings with the Advisory Board.

* Serve on various university, division and departmental committees and represent the LCIRM/department at various state and national associations; represent LCIRM and potentially take over for the Academic Director at industry events if the Academic Director is unavailable.

* Perform related duties based on departmental needs.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.
