Position Overview: The Quality Systems Manager will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the implementation and maintenance of quality systems across all FXI manufacturing plants. This role ensures that all quality systems comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies. The Quality Systems Manager will collaborate closely with plant managers, quality teams, and other stakeholders to drive continuous improvement in product quality and operational processes. Responsibilities: Quality Systems Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems (QMS) across all manufacturing plants. Presently, it's presumed to need 3 levels of QMS certification (IATF / ISO / FXI-Retail)
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001), regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Regularly review and update quality policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Implement tools to facilitate & simply the execution of the QMS. Including LPAs.
Audit and Compliance
- Conduct internal audits to ensure adherence to QMS and identify areas for improvement.
- Coordinate and support external audits from customers, regulatory bodies, and certification organizations.
- Develop and oversee corrective and preventive action (CAPA) plans to address audit findings and non-conformities.
- Implement tools to facilitate & compilation of Audit Findings.
Continuous Improvement
- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
- Utilize quality tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Root Cause Analysis.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and drive initiatives to achieve targets.
Training and Development:
- Develop and deliver training programs on quality systems, core tools, procedures, problem solving, and best practices for plant personnel.
- Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Mentor and support quality teams at each manufacturing plant.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Serve as a liaison between corporate quality assurance and plant quality teams.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and supply chain, to resolve quality issues and implement improvements.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on quality performance, issues, and improvement initiatives.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of quality systems, processes, and audit findings.
- Prepare and present detailed reports on quality performance, trends, and improvement activities.
- Ensure effective documentation control and record-keeping practices.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related field is preferred.
- 1 - 3 years' experience in analytical chemistry (preferred)
- Experience in manufacturing environment
- Experience working in a laboratory setting (preferred)
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of quality systems, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing).
- Proven experience in conducting audits and managing compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to travel to various manufacturing plants as needed (Travel is expected at least 60%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or similar certification.
- Experience with ERP systems and quality management software.
- Familiarity with the foam manufacturing industry.
Location:
- This role can be located within 30 miles of any of our U.S. Plants.
- This role will be home based at a Plant with up to 50% travel.
- This is not a remote position.
