Job Summary

Maintains overall responsibility for automated technology systems and the daily operational integrity of the technology at Ambulatory sites. The specialist works closely with the ambulatory practice managers to support medication management. Directs the timely procurement and accurate purchase of all Drugs & Pharmaceuticals for ambulatory practices and infusion centers. Performs various technical and support duties under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Job Description

Essential Functions

  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.

  • Participates in the medication distribution system within TJUH and Ambulatory Hospital Based Practices.

  • Performs and oversees Ambulatory Hospital Based Practices inspections on a defined basis to ensure medication management compliance.

  • Oversees the medication outdating process at the Ambulatory Hospital Based Practices.

  • Maintains and supports drug inventory at appropriate levels for the Ambulatory Hospital Based Practices.

  • Collaborates with Practice Managers or designees for pharmaceutical needs.

  • Facilitates and coordinates medication receipt and distribution to Ambulatory Hospital Based Practices and Infusion sites.

  • Oversees automated dispensing cabinets at designated Ambulatory Hospital Based Practices.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • 5 years of related experience required.
