HVAC Senior Supervisor

Sideburn Support Center

Description

Plans for and manages commercial heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration equipment maintenance, repair, renovation, and installation activities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
  • Five (5) years of experience in one or more of the trades under supervision to include, air conditioning, refrigeration, commercial boiler systems and steam fitting repairs, one (1) year of which shall have been in a supervisory role.
    • Advanced degree(s) beyond the minimum degree requirement in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Possession of a valid EPA-approved universal refrigerant recovery certification to include types I, II, and III.
  • Possession of a valid Commonwealth of Virginia master mechanical's license.
  • Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.
  • May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis, and/or agree to assume an emergency call-out list status.
  • Knowledge of procedures, techniques, materials, equipment, and tools involved in a wide variety of installation, maintenance, and repair activities of all trades supervised.
  • Skill in performance of the work and good knowledge of local, state, and national codes where applicable.
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and provide technical assistance to a large group of trade employees.
  • Ability to make independent judgments and decisions within established policies and to interpret policies for subordinates.
  • Ability to read and interpret work orders, diagrams, sketches, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals.
  • Ability to make sketches and drawings.
  • Ability to estimate costs of work performed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Ability to maintain good interpersonal relations.
Preferred
  • Completion of an acceptable apprentice-level HVAC training program.

$68,072 - $115,838
