JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Airport Facilities Manager-ORD, BX17 Chicago Department of Aviation - O'Hare International Airport Facilities Division Number of Positions: 1 (Additional vacancies pending budget approval possible) Starting Salary: $80,628.00 Annually Applications for this position will be accepted until 11:59pm CDT on March 19, 2025 ESSENTIAL DUTIES * Conducts Walk-throughs and Facility Inspections. * Regularly inspects terminal facilities to identify maintenance and repair needs. * Ensures facilities follow safety and operational standards. * Initiates Maintenance and Repair Work Orders. * Creates and prioritizes work orders for maintenance and repair projects based on inspection findings. * Meets with stakeholders and airport managers, tenants, and users to determine causative conditions and corrective action. * Collaborate with tenants, contractors, and departmental staff to discuss operational and financial issues related to planned construction and general maintenance and repair projects. * Develops comprehensive plans for maintenance projects, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. * Supervises project execution and ensures timely completion. * Utilizes the City FMS/ FMPS system for processing APRF's (Authorizations for Purchase Requisitions) and releases for vendor goods and services. * Assist in weather emergency staff coordination to maximize efficiencies during snow or other storms * Liaison with city departments, vendors, and contractors * Provide input for annual maintenance/repair expenditures for O&M budget development * Manages funding for maintenance projects within the budget. * Supervises Skilled Trades staff, service and commodity contracts. * Leads and directs staff involved in maintenance projects and payment processing. * Responds to and manages facilities emergencies 24/7, 365 days a year. * Ensures compliance with City term contracts, vendor limits, extensions, revisions, and bid documents. * Perform other administrative related duties as required Communication and Reporting * Maintains clear communication with Skilled Trades Manager and Administration staff regarding project status, financial reports, budgets, funding sources, and contractual limits. * Maintains operating records on repairs and maintenance work and prepares related reports. * Reviews and approves Contractor Proposals and using Financial Management Software, ensuring accuracy and compliance. * Processes releases, invoices, and prepares reports as needed. CHICAGO DEPARTMENT OF AVIATION Location: O'HARE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. THIS POSITION IS EXEMPT FROM CAREER SERVICE. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Property Management, Facilities Management, Construction Management or in a directly related field, plus five years of multipurpose facilities management experience, including two years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. NOTE: A valid State of Illinois driver's license is required. NOTE: Candidates selected for hire must pass a Ground Motor Vehicle Operating Regulation Basic Driving test. (Yellow Stripe) administered by the Chicago Department of Aviation within 90 days of hire. NOTE: The candidate(s) selected for hire must pass an airport background check and a Security Threat Assessment (STA). NOTE: Must be flexible to early and/or late meetings. NOTE: This is a 24/7 on-call position based on operational needs. NOTE: Must be available to work regular work schedule and be available for on-call duty assignments that may include evenings, overnight, weekend and/or holiday hours.
