Description

The Quality Control Inspector develops and implements quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.

Major Job Activities:



  • Develops and implements quality control and ground safety programs to ensure compliance with contract specifications.
  • Inspects and verifies proper completion and documentation of safety and flight discrepancies.
  • Briefs and debriefs pilots and crew members assigned to functional check flights.
  • Evaluates personnel, including verification of skills, training and experience.
  • Perform audits and inspections of work centers and ongoing maintenance actions, procedures, equipment and facilities.
  • Monitors timeliness and applicability of aircraft maintenance technical data and technical library.
  • Reviews maintenance source documents, aircraft inspection records, notes recurring discrepancies or trends and initiates appropriate action.
  • Manages the material deficiency and technical order improvement program.
  • Reviews engineering investigation requests.
  • Initiates and reviews quality deficiency reports, technical deficiency reports and hazardous material reports, ensuring that they are accurate, clear, concise and comprehensive.
  • Receives aircraft and explosive mishap reports and studies them for applicability.
  • Oversees aircraft weight and balance program.
  • Conducts safety inspections, training and drills.


Material & Equipment Directly Used:



  • IMDS, AMMO, Microsoft products (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.), operate company vehicles and power equipment, as required.


Working Environment:



  • Candidates may work in and around aircraft with loud noises


Physical Activities:



  • Exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
  • CLIMBING - Ascending or descending using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized (onto or off of helicopter)
  • HANDLING - Seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hand or hands. Fingers are involved only to the extent that they are an extension of the hand (required for numerous tasks.)
  • EXPOSURE TO WEATHER - Exposure to hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions caused by the weather (while conducting exterior ramp operations)
  • NOISE - Exposure to constant or intermittent sounds or a pitch or level sufficient to cause marked distraction or possible hearing loss (while conducting exterior ramp operations)


Qualifications:



  • Education / Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.

    • UH-1N Helicopter Maintenance.
    • Ensure that all aircraft maintenance employees, prior to starting work, possess certification from a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certified institute or aircraft maintenance military training, which validates knowledge of aircraft practices and procedures.
    • The minimum requirement for maintenance personnel is documented aircraft maintenance military training or commercial equivalent FAA certified training (i.e. Airframe and/or Power plant license).
    • Certified maintenance personnel must have at least 1-year experience within the last 5 years.
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance


  • Experience:

    • Quality Control experience in aviation.


  • Skills & Technology Used:

    • Root cause analysis (RCA)

  • The following salary range is intended to display the current per hour rate for this job.
