The Risk division is responsible for credit, market and operational risk, model risk, independent liquidity risk, and insurance throughout the firm.

YOUR IMPACT

Through assessing and managing operational risk across the firm, you will contribute to effective and comprehensive risk management as the firm executes on its business strategy. In doing so, you will provide commercial and strategic risk insight to the firm, including adjusting business practices to reduce inherent risk and enhance controls. You will become a risk expert with in-depth knowledge of various divisions and all aspects of operational risk.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

The Operational Risk Department, an independent risk management function as part of the Risk Division, is responsible for developing and implementing a standardized framework for assessing, monitoring and managing operational risks across the firm. The role is for a professional dedicated to actively employing and strengthening the components of the firm's operational risk management framework.

Responsibilities include:



  • Working with stakeholders across the firm to further develop and strengthen the operational risk framework and its individual components
  • Contributing to the advancement and/or execution of operational risk programs and practices
  • Help develop and institutionalize governance processes and enhance controls, driving a culture of risk management and mitigation
  • Collaborating with Engineering teams on the strategy and development of key operational risk management platforms
  • Providing clear and concise verbal and written recommendations and guidance to internal colleagues on matters of operational risk management
  • Remaining current on business drivers, regulatory and industry changes impacting the business, identifying new or emerging risks to which the firm is exposed
  • Provide support to regulatory deliverables and overall engagement relating to operational risk


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Key Skills

This role requires an energetic self-starter, who can engage with stakeholders across the firm at several levels of management, both regionally and globally, and may require occasional interaction with external parties. Strong interpersonal, analytical and presentation skills are required for this role. Project or other change management skills are also recommended.



  • 1-3 years of priori work experience in relevant field, Risk Management, Technology Management or Engineering background preferred
  • Technical knowledge in product management, and quantitative aptitude to be able to understand and develop quantification of operational risks
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills, including program management or change management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Self-starter, continuous learner, proactive, independent, proven delivery track record
  • Team oriented, inquisitive and enthusiastic
  • Proficient to advanced skills with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Alteryx
