Another Source's client, Housing Trust Silicon Valley, is recruiting a Credit Analyst to join their Asset Management Team in San Jose or Oakland, CA. This position will play a vital role in supporting the evaluating and analysis of affordable housing loans - it is an exciting time to join the team at Housing Trust Silicon Valley!

This position is hybrid (on-site 3 days per week) and offers a very generous PTO plan. They are a 100% self-sufficient, non-profit that is committed to maintaining work / life balance.

Salary Range: $78,000 - $94,000

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Credit Analyst (CA) plays a pivotal role in facilitating the lending to affordable housing projects, ensuring thorough analysis and accurate decision-making. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, from gathering essential information for loan modifications to supporting portfolio performance monitoring and reporting. The CA will support the organization's operations by performing financial analyses, third party review assessments, site visits, and various asset management tasks including but not limited to covenant compliance, financial reporting, loan modifications, loan extensions, and sponsor reviews.The Credit Analyst will participate in the Housing Trust (HT) training program and with successful completion be eligible to grow to more senior roles either in the Asset Management or the Multifamily Lending functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Loan Monitoring and Credit Analysis
  • Loan Extension and Modification Process
  • Internal and External Reporting

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate, urban planning, or economics.

OR

  • At least 3 years' experience in a related field.

Required

  • Proficiency in analyzing company financials.
  • Experience analyzing property level financial performance and identifying key trends OR deep knowledge of accounting for deferred revenue, capital, and cash flow as well as proven ability to perform trend analysis.
  • Strong analytical, time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while exhibiting strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborating across various levels of diversity including race, color, national origin, ancestry, sex, marital status, disability, religious or political affiliation, actual or perceived gender identity, age, or sexual orientation.
  • Commitment to the mission of the Housing Trust and its borrowers and ability to embrace a work culture that celebrates creativity and innovation.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in affordable housing or real estate, including credit analysis and project proforma analysis.
  • Experience with reviewing due diligence items required to underwrite real estate transactions including but not limited to appraisals, environmental, and construction cost review reports.
  • Knowledge of the closing process and loan documents utilized in real estate transactions.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local government funding sources for capital and operating needs of multi-family housing, affordable housing and/or permanent supportive housing, (e.g., LIHTC, HUD programs, etc.)
