SUMMARY: Almo is seeking a seasoned Director of Planning and Purchasing. This pivotal role oversees all aspects of planning and procurement operations, ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services while optimizing costs and quality. You will lead a team dedicated to supplier management, demand forecasting, inventory control, and cost optimization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supplier Management: Manage supplier performance, ensuring compliance and fostering strong relationships.
  • Demand Forecasting: Lead demand planning efforts to accurately predict future needs and support monthly demand consensus processes.
  • Inventory Management: Develop strategies for optimal inventory levels and working capital management.
  • Cost Optimization: Drive cost-saving initiatives and negotiate to reduce expenses.
  • Purchase Order Management: Oversee the purchase order process, from placement to delivery.
  • KPI Management: Monitor key metrics like Fill Rate, Inventory Turns, and Aged Inventory Mitigation.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to legal and company standards, and generate insightful reports for senior management.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a skilled team of planners and buyers.


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a distribution environment.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and vendor management skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software systems and ERP solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
