Job Description: The Software Engineer at Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin will develop integrated solutions, modernizing, consolidating and coordinating independently designed applications in cloud-based data ecosystem. Work within an Agile development team to craft and implement enterprise data capabilities and services utilizing cloud compute technologies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS). Enable modern data pipelines using workflow management applications and distributed computing frameworks such as Apache Spark, DataBricks, Apache Airflow, Control-M. Build and test CI/CD deployment pipelines for data platform components. Work with EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, SWF, Lambda, CloudFront, IAM, ELB, and AutoScaling. Act as lead role in troubleshooting and debugging automation issues. Conduct and coordinate code reviews. Utilize All Control-M, Complex ETL, Power BI, Informatica, Postgres, Tableau, Python, XML, JSON. Recognize and evaluate workload model for performance testing; understand context and teach team to adapt testing approaches. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week. Salary $84,350- $172,380 per year. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field plus 2 years of experience as a software engineer or in a related occupation. Experience must include 2 years with each of the following: (1) All Control-M and Complex ETL; (2) Power BI, Informatica, Postgres, and Tableau; (3) Python, XML, and JSON; (4) DataBricks, Apache Spark, Apache Airflow, and Control-M; (5) EC2, S3, SQS, SNS, SWF, Lambda, CloudFront, IAM, ELB, and AutoScaling; and (6) Agile methodologies.
