In the role of GIS Technician, we'll count on you to:
- Conduct spatial analyses and prepare maps using ArcGIS
- Perform data input and editing of spatial and tabular data using ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
- Support field data collection using mobile GIS/GPS equipment
- Follow documented technical procedures
- Perform other duties as needed
- The job includes significant thematic map production to support environmental documents and permit applications, so candidates with strong graphic design and cartographic skills with the ability to clearly communicate spatial information in maps and figures will have preference in hiring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Science or closely related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Demonstrated cartographic and graphic design skills
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Geography, Planning, Engineering, Natural Science or closely related field, or a combination of education and relevant experience
- Practical experience with editing, database development, and map production in ArcGIS
- Experienced with Microsoft 365 Apps
- Requires attention to detail, reliability, and ability to work with a team
- Good written and oral communication skills a plus
- An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
