In the role of Senior Cultural Resource Specialist, we'll count on you to:
Support clients with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and Alaska Historic Preservation Act (AHPA) compliance and coordination activities. This may include: agreement document preparation, finding of effect recommendations, consultation planning, fieldwork, and associated reporting. The successful candidate may also serve as a task or project manager. Candidates should be familiar with Section 106 of the NHPA; the AHPA; fieldwork planning, execution, and documentation; preparation of state and federal land access permits; Quality Control review processes; interpretation of field data; and the regulatory framework for cultural resource management in Alaska. The successful candidate should be familiar with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and other environmental regulations that pertain to cultural resources. The successful candidate will be familiar with cultural resources management; research and documentation; fieldwork and technical writing; and consultation with tribal entities and diverse stakeholders. Candidates must be available for fieldwork and travel throughout Alaska and be experienced in leading field crews. The candidate may be required to lead or participate in Phase I, II, or III surveys, excavation, and archaeological monitoring. We'll also count on the Senior Cultural Resources Specialist to:
