JOB SUMMARY:
The Outdoor Pool Cashier is the first line of contact for customers entering the Edward P. Thomas, Jr. and William R. Diggs Memorial Outdoor Swimming Pools. Position shall provide for the overall "non-lifeguard and pool operator duties" of the swimming pool facility to include: daily admission and concession sales, customer service, cleanliness, and liaison to the pool management company staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Reports to immediate supervisor, the Recreation Supervisor.
- Responsible for working all assigned shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, and recording all hours worked on a bi-weekly timesheet.
- Maintains designated area, ensuring cleanliness of facility entrance and front desk workspace.
- Responsible for monitoring the facility entrance and front desk work area, ensuring patrons are entering and exiting the facility in an orderly fashion, and that a professional atmosphere is upheld.
- Provides a high level of customer service to patrons, responding to pool related program questions, in-person and via the telephone.
- Responsible for processing all daily admission sales, pool pass entry, punch card entry and special camp/group entry through an electronic registration system (RecTrac). Subsequently responsible for the collection of all revenue resulting from daily admission sales, ensuring that number of daily admission sales and revenue collected correlate.
- Works with the Recreation Supervisor to ensure concession products are available for sale and reports any products that require restocking.
- Responsible for the sale and revenue collection of concession products, ensuring that products sold and revenue collected correlate.
- Maintains good personal hygiene, including regular washing of hands.
- Communicates with the Pool Management Company staff on a regular basis and relays any necessary information to the Recreation Supervisor concerning facility operations.
- Maintains open communications with City pool staff, pool patrons, pool management staff (particularly the pool manager) and the Recreation Supervisor.
- Notifies Recreation Supervisor of all incidents and completes necessary documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
