POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Alutiiq Information Management, LLC a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC has an opeing for a Sr. Systems Engineer in San Diego, CA. TheSr. Systems Engineer will providetechnical support services for the Battle Force Tactical Network (BFTN) system. This includes BFTN rack Pre-Installation and Test Check-Out (PITCO), final BFTN system back fit and forward fit production testing.
- Work in electronics laboratory to configure, troubleshoot, test and verify proper operation of Navy Battle Force Tactical Network (BFTN) systems using HF and UHF communication systems.
- Execute tests and analysis in accordance with BFTN test plan guidance. Requried to draft test requirements, test plans, and test reports as technical system migration occurs.
- Witness/support/conduct verification testing on BFTN equipment racks, ensuring hardware and application software is operating correctly. Must perform system simulation in a laboratory environment to replicate fleet operation.
- Test, evaluate, troubleshoot, and verify High Frequency (HF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) communications system Program of Record providing ship-to-ship line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond LOS (BLOS) networking and relay to shore sites.
- Prepare documents relative to system functionality and testing in support of assigned duties.
- Review and understand system drawings. Redline/update drawings as required to maintain proper configuration management as system updates occur.
- Perform routine and as required maintenance per available Planned Maintenance System (PMS) documentation on Navy HF and UHF communication systems.
- Perform system issue replication, upgrades, verification and testing to validate Fleet changes and fixes to deployed advanced Battle Force Tactical Network systems.
- Provide the status of assigned tasks via both prepared and ad hoc oral briefings to customer and project manager.
Payrange:$90,000 to $110,000 Annually
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Security Clearance REQUIRED: Must already possess and be able to maintain, at a minimum, a SECRET Security Clearance.
- Pursuant to the Government Contract, you must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Ten plus (10+) years of recent experience in a Navy C4ISR environment.
- Must have experience and demonstrate In-Service sustainment engineering functions (e.g. configuration, evaluation, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance) of electronic equipment and systems; support the Life Cycle requirements; and providing technical support for Navy C4ISR.
- Must have a solid understanding of UHF and HF communications theory and techniques.
- Experience in the use of multi-meters, o-scopes, spectrum analyzers and associated test equipment. Develop, test, evaluate, troubleshoot, verify and maintain High Frequency (HF) and Ultra High Frequency (UHF) communications system Program of Record providing ship-to-ship line-of-sight (LOS) and beyond LOS (BLOS) networking and relay to shore sites.
- Education: Bachelors degree in a technical field; an additional four years experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Must have good communication skills.
- Must have superior organization skills.
- Must be able to work in a team and as an individual with minimal direction.
- Must be able to carry 35 to 50 pounds.
