The Opportunity:

UCF IT seeks applications for an Application Systems Analyst III - ITSM. This position implements IT solutions to meet business needs by collaborating with stakeholders to gather requirements and identify solutions. The Analyst III ensures compliance with university policies and strategic plans. Responsible for developing, upgrading, testing, and supporting systems and applications, including module functionality and ongoing support for assigned areas.

Responsibilities:


  • Conducts stakeholder meeting to determine system requirements, translates requirements into functional system specifications, components, estimates and project plans. Manages deliverables and project documentation and facilitates project meetings.

  • Reviews and analyzes UCF system processes, user experience, administrative business processes, and procedures for re-engineering and automation, and identifies improvements. Provides analytical data to track system and team performance.

  • Investigates errors, diagnoses problems, documents the problem, tracks issues, and recommends solutions. Coordinates problem resolution with development or systems support team members and other UCF support resources. Performs diagnostics, troubleshoots problems, and escalates problems to vendors.

  • Maintains effective documentation based on standards for system configuration, business process documents, functional specifications, business process diagrams, data flow diagrams, and flowcharts.

  • Update test plans, build test scenarios, and perform systems testing for production support, maintenance, or upgrades. Provides support for ITSM and ERP maintenance planning and scheduling. Provides project management support for implementation of patches and upgrades.

  • Implements and maintains processes for IT configuration management, asset management, and service management. Supports the development of quality assurance and testing processes.

  • Reviews and analyzes UCF system processes and administrative business processes and procedures for re-engineering and automation. Identifies improvement needs. Assists with implementation of patches and upgrades. Communicates, verifies, and tests desired functionality changes. Ensures quality assurance processes are followed.

  • Performs other duties as required.


Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience; or High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 8 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information

Preferred Qualifications:

Skills and Experience:


  • In depth knowledge of UCF systems and architecture and databases.

  • Experience in managing ITIL processes, improving customer experiences, and developing systems to solve business problems.

  • Experience with CMDB, Knowledge Management, Instructional Design, Technical Writing, Business Analysis, and/or Project Management.

  • Knowledge of user experience (UX) design.

  • Experience leading complex projects.

  • Advanced scripting skills (SQL).

  • Experience coaching student interns.

  • Deep understanding of UCF information technology services and higher education stakeholder needs.

  • Ability to think of new ideas to improve digital experiences.

  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to facilitate decision making among executive stakeholders.


Special Instructions to the Applicants:

Candidate will be required to work occasional nights and weekends during upgrades or outages.

This is not a remote position. Up to 1-3 hybrid workdays per week may be available after a probationary period, depending on job duties, project work, and supervisor approval.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $80,000 to $92,000. The final salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and internal equity considerations.
