Job Description

In this paid, part-time, year-round internship, you will learn how to:

  • Test controls related to financial reporting, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulations and FHLBank policies and procedures

  • Prepare confirmations of customer balances

  • Verify data accuracy within bottom-up risk and control self-assessments

  • Verify operational controls around the use of end user applications (spreadsheets and other tools)

  • Assist with the business resiliency, vendor risk management, end-user developed computing, and model risk management programs.

Qualifications
  • Completion of at least sophomore year of college, working toward an undergraduate degree in accounting or finance (or equivalent work experience) is required.

  • One year of similar or related work experience is preferred but not required.

  • General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing standards. General knowledge of internal control system processes and risk management methodologies.

  • Ability to work independently.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

  • Ability to operate all types of general office equipment.
