This position will oversee staff who maintain accounting records, ensure compliance with accounting practices and policies, and prepare internal analytical reports and monthly financial statements.

What You Will Do:
  • Manage monthly accounting for North American Renewable Power, including review of GL entries, PPM & GIS entries, Joint Venture accounting, Distributions, Accounts Receivable, and reconciliations.

  • Review quarterly and annual reporting to Financial Reporting, Tax, and other departments.

  • Handle sophisticated accounting tasks like HLBV accounting and onboarding new assets, collaborating with other finance groups as needed.

  • Prepare/review technical accounting memos; Perform research and analysis for ad hoc questions or requests from various stakeholders.

  • Lead a team of 5-8, focusing on staff career development and mentoring including remotely using Teams.

  • Oversee joint-venture accounting and standalone audits.

  • Coordinate with partners outside Finance, including Asset Management, Power Operations, and auditors.

  • Communicate and answer questions from senior leaders, which requires specialized knowledge, expertise, and experience related to accounting standards, GAAP and non-GAAP requirements, and renewable power business.

  • Improve and document Power Accounting processes, implementing efficiencies and ensuring SOX compliance.

Who You Are: Required:
  • University or College degree in a related field

  • Professional Accounting Designation

  • 7 or more years of post-designation experience in accounting

  • 3 or more years managing, training, and mentoring staff

  • Strong leadership, integrity, and ethical standards

  • Proficiency in data and accounting analysis with attention to detail

  • Effective organization and time management skills

  • Excellent problem-solving and staff development skills

  • Outstanding communication and presentation abilities

  • Solid understanding of US GAAP and internal control principles

  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud, HFM/Smartview, Essbase, ARCs and EPBCS

Preferred:
  • Experience in renewable power finance and/or HLBV accounting

Working Conditions:
  • Office environment

  • Tight reporting deadlines

  • Moderate overtime/flexibility required around reporting and close cycles

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
