Job Description

Danfoss Drives is seeking a Regional Sales Manager - Water/Wastewater to drive significant growth in our Northeastern US market. This key role will focus on acquiring and developing key accounts, exceeding sales targets, and fostering strong customer relationships within the water and wastewater industries. The ideal candidate will lead strategic sales programs and build lasting partnerships with key Danfoss customers.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following.



  • Account Management & Growth:Manage and expand Danfoss's water business within assigned accounts, leveraging value-selling methodologies and programs. This includes acting as the primary field sales representative, driving growth within specific accounts or geographical areas.
  • Strategic Partnerships:Develop and nurture relationships with key consulting engineers, understanding their role in the sales process and leveraging those relationships for business development.
  • Customer Relationship Management:Build strong, multi-level relationships with customers, gaining a thorough understanding of their organizational structure, products, and decision-making processes to ensure a superior customer experience. This includes coordinating all Danfoss customer interactions.
  • Technical & Commercial Expertise:Possess a comprehensive understanding of Danfoss's water/wastewater product portfolio, effectively communicating technical and commercial aspects to customers.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Lead and coordinate sales activities across various Danfoss business segments to support assigned territories and/or key accounts, as directed by sales management.

Minimum requirements for the role:



  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or equivalent years of industry experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in a customer facing technical sales role. Experience selling variable frequency drives and/or rotating equipment to customers in the water and wastewater markets is preferred.
  • Knowledge and pre-existing relationships within the Water/Wastwater industries in the Northeastern region of the USA is a plus.
  • Experience working with Customer Relationship Management and sales management systems

  • Self-motivated with a drive to achieve goals beyond what is required.
  • Business acumen around sales forecasting, opportunity management and customer planning.
  • Ability to listen, gain trust and bring to closure an action, project, resolution, or sales opportunity with customers.
  • Ability to utilize sales process to uncover customer objections/concerns and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Strong process discipline, ability to align planning objectives with a pipeline development process to grow and develop market revenue.
  • Travel requirement 60% primarily in the US with some internationally as required.
