Environmental Specialist

Job Summary:

The Cordia team is seeking an Environmental Specialist to manage environmental compliance and sustainability across the sites in the eastern region. Reporting directly to the Regional Engineering Manager, this role is pivotal in leading the plants' environmental programs and supporting long term sustainability initiatives.

Principle Responsibilities/Key Results Areas:

Monitor and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, including air, water, and waste management standards.

Prepare and submit environmental permits, reports, and documentation required by regulatory agencies.

Conduct environmental impact assessments and reviews for new and existing capital, maintenance, or business development projects.

Manage and track emissions data to ensure compliance with greenhouse gas regulations and reporting protocols.

Maintain environmental records, analyze trends, and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.

Work with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and decision making.

Provide training and awareness programs to employees on environmental policies, practices, and compliance requirements.

Lead initiatives to improve site procedures including environmental risk management plans, including spill prevention and response strategies

Required Qualifications:

* Education:

o Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or a related field.

* Experience:

o A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a role focusing on environmental compliance, permitting, or waste management.

o Prior work experience in an industrial or plant setting is preferred.

Skills:

o Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey technical concepts effectively.

o Best Practices: Strong knowledge of industry, best practices for environmental programs

o Multitasking: Exceptional multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.

o Collaboration: Comfortable working across multiple facilities and engaging with diverse stakeholders.
