About the role

The "Senior Manager, Bids & Proposals" will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the Request for Proposal (RFP) process for large waste and recycling projects. This position requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the waste management industry. We're looking for a resourceful self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills, advanced organizational skills, and a proven track record of winning large-scale waste processing and disposal contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience in the "total waste management" space, leading bids that cover wide-ranging waste management needs from equipment and transportation to recycling and waste-to-energy disposal. We are seeking a leader who excels in a cross-functional role and provides the polish to ensure that Reworld's proposals stand out in a competitive marketplace.

Travel: Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

Work Location: Remote, in the US.

What you will do:

• Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for responding to RFPs, RFQs, and other solicitation documents. Ensure alignment with company goals and client requirements.
• Analyzing bid submissions to determine which bids align with Reworld capabilities and are worth pursuing. Pursue those with upside for Reworld and maintain accountability to submit bids completely and on-time.
• Participate in bid/no-bid meetings and provide expert analysis on the viability and strategic fit of potential opportunities.
• Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the proposal process.
• Creating in depth analysis on RFP win/loss rates and the reasons why.
• Collaborate with national sales and account management staff on forthcoming RFPs, strategies to get invited and win, etc.

What you will need:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in waste management proposals and bids.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Skilled in the Microsoft Office suite of programs including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to manage complex proposals and meet tight deadlines, with a track record of success.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of a broad set of waste streams.
• Deep knowledge of waste management and recycling processes, equipment, hauling lanes, regulations, and industry trends.
• Familiarity with relevant bid submission software and tools (e.g., Ariba, Coupa, Wood Mackenzie, etc.)
• Demonstrated leadership skills across multiple teams.
• Ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
• Understanding of environmental services and technical sustainability terminology.
