Sr. Manager Market Strategic Reimbursement & Access (Remote - US) Life Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew, we design and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living. The Senior Manager Strategic Reimbursement & Access, reporting to the Director of Strategic Reimbursement, Value Generation & Market Access for US Sports Medicine, will work to enhance coverage, coding, and payment strategies for the sports medicine portfolio. What will you be doing? As a Senior Manager Strategic Reimbursement & Access, you will lead efforts to optimize market access and reimbursement strategies, with a strong focus on the CartiHeal Agili-C Cartilage Repair Implant. You will collaborate across teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and adapt strategies to evolving market dynamics.
What will you need to be successful? This role calls for a deep understanding of coding, coverage, and payment, as well as direct experience working with payers, analyzing policies, and navigating AMA/CPT processes to support market access. To succeed, you'll need to work independently across teams, ensuring reimbursement strategies align with business goals. Experience guiding coding, coverage, and payment decisions-especially in healthcare settings involving implantable devices-is important. Strong analytical and organizational skills are key, along with the ability to spot areas for improvement. Clear and effective communication is essential, as you'll be presenting to and working with patients, physicians, hospital billing staff, and sales teams. Education & CertificationsA Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Public Policy, Health Economics, Business, Science, or Healthcare Administration is required. A Master's degree is a plus but not necessary. An AAPC certification (CPC, COC, Coding Auditor, etc.) is preferred, or at least 7 years of experience in coding, coverage, and payment. ExperienceYou should have at least 7 years of experience in reimbursement, market access, or health economics, ideally in a medical device company, healthcare consulting firm, payer organization, or healthcare provider setting. Strong interpersonal skills to explain the benefits of medical devices to patients, providers, and payers are key, along with experience creating and delivering training programs. A solid understanding of US healthcare reimbursement systems is important, including Medicare payment models, third-party payer coverage, and clinical and procedural coding. Knowledge of medical device compliance and regulatory requirements is also essential. Travel Requirements: This position is remote. All professionals that are required to gain entry into healthcare facilities to perform the basic remit of their role, must successfully complete our credentialling process, which often includes COVID 19 vaccine management. The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $90,000 - $225,000 USD annually (or hourly) The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role at Smith + Nephew.
