Description Network Operations Center (NOC) Specialist Huntsville, AL 35808 Anakim Consulting has an immediate need for a Network Operations Center (NOC) Specialist supporting high quality integrated communications services for secure voice, video and data solutions and services ensuring that Telemetry and Command data flows for NASA's spacecraft and aeronautical missions flow smoothly. Job Type: Full Time Schedule: 24x7 shift support Travel: Travel may be required in first year of employment for training at Maryland site. Job Responsibilities: Use a variety of network management and diagnostic tools for monitoring, troubleshooting communications-related problems Monitoring and some maintenance assistance will be required of Cisco routers and switches and Juniper routers Support hardware unique to customer's environment Support day-to-day network operations and activities Interact with other customer locations to resolve real-time network and dataflow problems Support testing and implementation of new network services Provide on-site support for 24X7 network operation center including supporting non-standard shifts, weekends and holidays Meet customer certification requirements for technical operations within 180 days of hire Position Requirements Basic requirements include: U.S. Citizenship 5+ years of related experience Bachelor's degree in a related discipline Additional years of related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree (10 years experience with high school diploma) Current CCNA, CCNP or JNCIA certification Knowledge of TCP/IP technology Knowledge of IP addressing and subnet masking Excellent written and verbal communications skills Hands-on experience with standard industry products eg. Cisco, Juniper, and Ciena Ability to communicate technical information and coordinate network and customer issues Ability to multi-task and respond quickly to real-time dataflow issues. Knowledge of network monitoring tools, eg. NNMi, Specturm, MRTG, CACTI Experience in supporting Wide Area Networking connectivity Availability to support on-site 24x7 schedule Availability to support travel in first year of employment for training Preferred experience: Knowledge of trouble ticket processes Knowledge and hands on experience with data analyzers, network probes and other network diagnostic and performance measurement devices Experience in performing traceroutes, executing ping test Experience in WAN protocols such as SONET and MPLS Experience working with Commercial Carrier service providers, eg, AT&T, Verizon Knowledgeable of transmission principals including T1, T3, DS-3 &OC-3/48; Knowledge of serial interfaces including RS232, V.35 and RS 449 preferred; Knowledge of Linux Full-Time/Part-Time Full-Time Position Systems Support Specialist About the Organization Anakim Consulting is a privately held small company that provides growth opportunities for employees.
