Your opportunity As Vice President of Business and Corporate Development, you will serve as New Relic's leader of the company's strategy functions, comprising product partnerships, cloud partnerships, corporate development and strategic initiatives, as well as the related strategic engineering team, reporting directly to the company's Chief Business and Operations Officer. You will be responsible for the collective team that provides leadership and strategic guidance across New Relic to drive the company's product ecosystem strategy and execution as well as accelerated delivery of product roadmap. You will engage with C-level executives as well as work cross-functionally with leaders from across a diverse set of areas ranging from product, engineering, go-to-market and operations - in each case, both inside and outside of New Relic. You must have the ability to devise, iterate and drive alignment on company strategies as well as the ability to dive into the details to ensure a high bar of execution as well as continuous progress against the company's goals. What you'll do
- Lead and develop a high performing team spanning product partnerships, cloud partnerships, corporate development and strategic initiatives as well as the related strategic engineering team.
- Lead cross-functional ownership of the company's product ecosystem strategy, including alignment with and support of product leadership in delivery upon roadmap objectives.
- Lead cross-functional ownership of the company's cloud strategy, tying together and balancing appropriately product, engineering, go-to-market, financial and other objectives, and in turn executing on that strategy through ownership of the relationships and negotiations with cloud partners.
- Lead cross-functional ownership of the company's evaluation and execution of merger, acquisition or investment opportunities, including driving alignment of appropriate C-suite, product and go-to-market leaders and ultimately the board of directors.
- Keep ahead of industry trends, competitive activity and partnership opportunities.
- Partner closely with executive leadership of the requisite cross-functional areas, including the GVP of Partners and Alliances in the go-to-market organization, to promote marketing, sales enablement, services, and support of the product features delivered in the course of the strategy.
- Drive alignment and reporting of goals and results to the C-suite and appropriate leadership as well as market learnings and opportunities to better serve customers.
This role requires
- 15+ years of experience in software and technology industry doing partner management, business development and/or strategic alliance
- Strong leadership capabilities, with experience in building and nurturing high-performing teams
- Must have demonstrated technical aptitude for emerging industry trends including digital transformation, DevOps, Microservices, Containers, Orchestration, Cloud Adoption
- Strategic and analytical problem solver with ability to identify areas for collaborative advantage
- Proven experience and demonstrated ability to extend the breadth and depth of relationships with partners
- Outstanding communication with strong executive presence and cross-organizational management
Bonus points if you have
- Experience with cloud partners (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Experience with SaaS products, particularly DevOps
- Related B.A./B.S., Masters or MBA

The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant's skills, qualifications, and experience.
