*Job Title: Systems Architect* Job Description The Atlassian SME is a systems architect position that will be working with a high-end Digital Engineering Solutions technical team. The Atlassian SME will draw on their experience as an engineer to help the team configure Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management to provide customized, unique solutions for our Space Systems Command customer. This position will be responsible for building custom Jira workflows and custom Confluence dashboards to capture and display data. You will work with the customer to elicit requirements and workflows and turn those into automated and semi-automated processes in Jira. You will use Jira Service Management to manage workflows and asset management. The Atlassian SME must have an expert understanding of Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management. You should be a skilled user of the Microsoft Office suite with special focus on MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint. In this position, you will work closely with highly technical operations and maintenance personnel and will decipher requirements based on their input. You will use coding skills such as JQL, SQL, and HTML to build custom products. Experience building Atlassian plug-ins/applications is a plus. The ability to work with JavaScript and Python will be helpful. Experience with DoD, especially acquisition, is highly desired. The Atlassian SME will require excellent interpersonal skills to work with team members, work through varying opinions on the way to create complex workflows and dashboards, and support the iterative evolution of products.
Responsibilities * Extensive knowledge of Atlassian Jira and Confluence products * Experience customizing workflows, setting up dashboards, and generating reports or full stack developer experience * Advanced SQL and JQL query experience * 5+ years' experience in setting up and supporting Atlassian Tools (Jira, Confluence, etc.) * Strong experience in automating and extending base Jira/Confluence functionality, including scripting * 5+ years' experience using/extending REST API for Jira and Confluence * 5+ years' experience using Git and branching models or other source control repositories * Familiar with SAFe, Agile, and other JIRA methodologies to help advise the customer on how to adhere to best practices to ensure quality of service * Front end development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Restful APIs, and Python * 5+ years of experience interacting with clients * Experience in a System Program Office (SPO) or Program Management Office (PMO) assigned with delivering hardware and/or software products for DoD operators (space systems preferred but other SPO/PMO experience may be considered) * Working knowledge of DOD contract types and familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) * Experience with creating, managing, and integrating DoD schedules * Experience with program artifacts, such as Technical Performance Requirements (TPRs), Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), DoD acquisition policies and procedures such as Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Statement of Work (SOW), Earned Value Management (EVM), Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), Risk, Issue, and Opportunity (RIO), maintenance and support specifications * Working knowledge of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework (AAF) * Basic understanding of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) process * Working knowledge of source selection evaluation criteria and evaluating proposals against evaluation criteria * Demonstrated ability for autonomous work, seamlessly working with team members and top leadership with minimal supervision * Exhibit strong critical thinking abilities and problem-solving acumen, proactively addressing challenges and preempting potential issues * Exceptional communication skills to include written, verbal, and presentation skills, combined with the ability to efficiently communicate in a DoD environment and the ability to comprehend complex written or verbal information * Proven ability to work collaboratively with a diverse set of leaders and colleagues, while exemplifying effective teamwork and collaboration skills in both physical and virtual workplace environments Essential Skills * Expert understanding of Atlassian products including Jira, Confluence, and Jira Service Management * Skilled user of Microsoft Office suite with a focus on MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint * Coding skills in JQL, SQL, and HTML * Experience with creating custom Jira workflows and Confluence dashboards * Experience building Atlassian plug-ins/applications * Excellent interpersonal skills Additional Skills & Qualifications * Certified Atlassian Developer * Jira Expert * Confluence Expert * Jira Service Management Expert * Ability to Customize Jira and Confluence to provide specific outcomes, processes, and dashboards * Ability to telework with clear phone and internet connectivity * Ability to obtain minimum of secret level security clearance, with the potential to upgrade to TS * Ability to travel up to 25% of the time * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field with 7+ years' experience (Experience may substitute for a degree) * DoD knowledge/experience * Ability to code in CSS, JavaScript, and Python * High-level understanding of technology (networking, software installation) * Experience with agile practices (Certified Scrum Master desired) * Proven adaptability in high-stress situations Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a 100% remote position with quarterly travel required to a customer site. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gainesville, Virginia. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $67.31 - $72.12/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
