Summary:
The Senior Consultant in the Hybrid Infrastructure - Enterprise Networking practicehas a strong foundation in networking engineering principles and demonstrable experience in implementing and troubleshooting complex network solutions. This role will be a key contributor to a variety of projects, working both independently and collaboratively with team members, demonstrating leadership qualities within the team. The Senior Consultant will have significant customer interaction, requiring excellent communication, problem-solving, and business acumen.
Responsibilities
- Contribute significantly to the implementation and troubleshooting of complex network solutions for clients, working from detailed project Statements of Work (SOWs) with moderate supervision. This includes interpreting network design documentation and translating designs into functional implementations.
- Proactively identify and resolve network issues, escalating only complex, high-impact problems to senior architects.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting guides.
- Provide technical guidance and support to Level 1 Network Consultants, acting as a mentor and assisting in their professional development.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, tailoring presentations and recommendations to different stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with project managers and clients, providing regular updates, actively contributing to effective project management, and understanding client business needs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of current networking technologies and industry best practices. Proactively research and recommend the best solutions for client needs, considering both technical and business implications.
- Adhere to established network standards, procedures, and safety regulations, ensuring project completion is aligned with security and compliance requirements.
- Actively participate in internal knowledge sharing and contribute to the improvement of processes and documentation.
- Seek mentorship and guidance from Senior Solution Architects and Principal Architects on complex or novel technical challenges.
- Understand and apply business processes related to project scoping, budgeting, and resource allocation. Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Other duties as assigned and directed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3 - 5 years of experience in IT systems, software and networking.
- Significant hands-on experience with network cabling, including termination and testing.
- Extensive experience with rack management and equipment installation in diverse environments.
- Deep understanding of the seven layers of the OSI model and their functions, and the practical applications of this knowledge.
- Strong familiarity with fundamental networking concepts (TCP/IP model, subnetting, various routing protocols, advanced network security principles).
- Proven experience with common networking hardware from various manufacturers (Cisco, Juniper, Arista, etc.).
- Advance ability to interpret and understand detailed network diagrams and documentation; ability to translate design specifications into implementation plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Exceptional interpersonal skills for client collaboration and team leadership.
- Ability to independently manage time, prioritize tasks, and met deadlines. Experience with project budgeting and resource allocation is a plus.

In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for discretionary bonus plan based on company and individual performance. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each candidate, including experience and location.
